Sarah Antonucci
My cousin took me to my first yoga class when I was fourteen, and I was immediately enthralled. I was blown away by how simply bringing mindful attention to my breath drastically changed how I felt physically and mentally. Such a small action was creating such a large change within me. Linking this breath with curious and playful movement, I began creating a stable and loving relationship with myself through yoga. Having started yoga at such a young age, this practice has held me through my greatest periods of growth, on my days of overwhelming joy, as well as my darkest hours. While life is ever-changing, this practice can be a constant. While most things in life are out of our control, one thing we can control is our breath.
After many years of joyfully exploring the practice, I took my studies to Bali, Indonesia, in 2015 to complete my 500-hour teacher training. While in Bali studying anatomy as it applied to our yoga postures, I realized there was so much more to the body than I would be able to learn in these short two months. This hunger for knowledge brought me to massage therapy school in 2018, which truly opened my eyes to the wonder that is the human body.
In my classes, connection to our breath (our life force!) comes first. Once you have tapped into this, the movements your body needs begin to come more intuitively. Moving mindfully through flowing sequences that nurture how we would like to feel in all areas of our life: safe, kind, resilient, and strong.
While I enjoy holding a role as a teacher, my greatest passion will always be on the path of the student. Over the years my thirst for knowledge has brought me through medical massage programs, detailed modality trainings, countless informational texts, and most recently to Oaxaca, Mexico to mentor with a Feldenkrais practitioner. The lessons I learn are what I am here to teach.
